New Student Orientation

We are so excited for you to begin your journey to graduation from Sarasota High School!  SHS is the first and finest comprehensive high school in Sarasota County.  Our school community has a deep and rich history in Sarasota and you are about to become a member of the Sailor Nation! 

In order to help your transition to Sarasota High School, our amazing staff has created an ENGAGING, EDUCATIONAL, and INFORMATIVE experience for you!   Our Welcome Aboard event will allow you to:

• Get to know other incoming 9th graders

• Get to know our staff

• Learn about the culture and expectations of SHS

• Understand the importance of your high school pathway to graduation

• Develop study skills and employability skills

• Learn about the academic support available to you

• Explore athletics, clubs, student organizations

• Tour the campus to find your classes

• Sign-up for the Student Portal and the BAND App
